27 by Twenty-Seven

My birthday is June 4th. I will be turning 27. I decided to give myself a list of 27 things I want to accomplish by then. I am not much for New Year resolutions, but I do love to set goals and make to-do lists. I will try to blog about each item I cross off the list over the next few months.

  1. Do something I have never done before in my hometown
  2. Do something that scares me
  3. Replace one average item I use everyday with something that is interesting and I love
  4. Read a book from a religion that differs from my own
  5. Let go of 3 grudges
  6. Plant a garden
  7. Finish a quiet book for Mia
  8. Go offline for 3 days
  9. Try 5 new recipes
  10. Make cloud dough with Mia
  11. Give something broken a new life
  12. Get rid of 15 things from my closet
  13. Buy or pick flowers for no reason
  14. Have my girlfriends over for a meal
  15. Write 5 thank you notes, just because.
  16. Say yes to one thing I would usually say no to
  17. Exercise at least 5 days a week
  18. Monthly date night
  19. Make a Honeymoon photo album
  20. Find a recipe for squash that I actually enjoy
  21. Sew a project just for me
  22. Fix my pearl necklace
  23. Go on a picnic. With a basket, blanket, and plates.
  24. Get chickens
  25. Go to the farmers market and make a meal using only the items I purchase
  26. Let someone come over to my house even if it isn't clean (this could go under something that scares me)
  27. Watch the sunset
This should be fun and doable. I think I will start my 28 by twenty-eight sooner and make my list a little more challenging. I am excited to accomplish this list. One goal I should probably add to the list is letting go of any guilt for not accomplishing something on this list.

  1. Oh dear, you've inspired me and my list is going to be almost twice as long as yours. Luckily, I have the day off today.

  2. I love your list, and it inspired me to write my own! I don't have a birthday until December, but I might as well get started. Thank you for sharing with me.

    1. Thank you. I don't think it is ever too early to start. I want to start mine earlier next year.
