Thankful Thursday

I am thankful for so many things. Every time I try to write one of these posts I try to stick to a list of 10 or less so I won't bore you with how "wonderful" my life is. However, it is really hard to whittle it down to 10. So, if I leave something or someone out I am thankful, I am just trying to keep it short and sweet.

1. We payed off our X-terra. What an exciting day. My car has been paid off for a while, but now all 3 cars are payed off. Happy dance.

2.Days spent with Mia. Now that she can run and explore, not to mention I don't have to carry a diaper bag everywhere anymore, we can do fun things. The kinds of things I imagined when I dreamed of having kids. We go to the park, the zoo, the library, Petco (our zoo when it is wet and cold), and the beach. It is really an amazing time in my life with Mia. Since I don't have to go to work we really have all day to do whatever our hearts desire. In the morning while we are eating breakfast I usually ask Mia "What do you want to do today?" She usually wants to go to the park or the beach. Those are her pretty standard answers. Yesterday she wanted to go to the beach, but we ended up at the zoo.

3. My husband. I threw out my back last week and he let me lay around for a couple days while I healed. Fortunately he has family sick time through his work so he was able to take a couple days off. I know that some people don't have that option and can't afford to miss work. So, I feel very fortunate that we are able to do that.

4.Pinterest. I know silly, but I have been finding some great cooking and baking inspiration lately. I try not to make the same things too often for dinner or even breakfast. I am not one of those people that has Taco Tuesday or Pizza Friday. I like to keep things interesting and different, but sometimes you just get stuck in a rut. Pinterest is such a great place to find new and exciting dishes.

5.The colored pants trend. I am loving the comeback of colored pants. It reminds me of elementary school. Also, Old Navy is a great place to find them for under $20. I am on my way to having all the colors of the rainbow. I just think they are so much fun.

6. The library. I recently checked out Jane Eyre on CD. I have never read it. I saw the movie when I was pretty young, but I barely remember it. It has been really nice to sit at the coffee table and color with Mia while we listen to my book(Yes, my 20 month old is reading Jane Eyre with me. We are very refined). I just love to be able to get books and go to story time with Mia.

7. Good old Blistex. My lips were like super chapped for a while. I kept using my good organic chapstick and drinking lots of water, but they just wouldn't get better. I finally picked some Blistex up while I was at Winco (for like $1). My lips weren't chapped by the next day. Sometimes you just have to stick to the classics.

8.My sewing machines. I have a Brother regular quilting machine and a Singer ProFinish Serger.  I have had great success with both. Most recently I tailored one of my husbands dress shirts and I got to give it a professional finish with my serger. It is so nice to be able to feel like a project is truly finished.

9.My brother. He watches Mia on Sunday mornings so I can go to Zumba. It is really nice to be able to go and I really appreciate the fact that he gets up early to be here. He is a busy college student so I know that he doesn't have loads of free time.

10.My little house. I love our house. It may not be in my ideal location, but I love it. I love my formal dining room, large kitchen, and the coziness of a craftsman home. We don't plan on living in this house forever and I know that I will miss it when we move.

What are some things you are thankful for?
