Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap

I am embarrassed to admit this, but I am a obsessed with the Duggar Family. I don't necessarily agree with their beliefs, but I am so impressed by them. I read both of their books, I check their website, and I have watched a little bit of their show. I watched the episode "Cheaper by the Duggar" and I had to know how to make their laundry soap. So, I looked it up on their website and made some. It really works and it is so cheap. My only regret is not using more essential oil to add more scent. I have been using it for a couple months now and I still have an almost full 5 gallon bucket of it. It feels great to have made this for my family and to have saved us so much money. I use it on Lady's clothes and diapers and it works fine. No rashes. I use it in my front-loader, but you can also use it in a top loader you will just use more. I just fill my cap to the line I used for the previous detergent. Without further ado here is the recipe, you can also find it here. :

 Homemade Liquid Laundry Soap

4  Cups - hot tap water
1  Fels-Naptha soap bar
1 Cup - Arm & Hammer Super Washing Soda*
½ Cup Borax

1.Grate bar of soap
2. Put bar of soap and 4 cups hot water in a saucepan. Stir over medium-low heat until melted.
3.Fill a 5 gallon bucket half full of hot tap water. Add saucepan of soap, washing soda, and Borax. Stir until all powder is dissolved. Fill bucket to top with hot water. Stir, cover and let sit overnight to thicken.
-Stir and fill a used, clean, laundry soap dispenser half full with soap and then fill the rest of way with water. Shake before each use. (will gel)
-Optional:You can add 10-15 drops of essential oils. Don't skimp on this part. I did, only because I ran out and my detergent has an extremely mild scent. I would have liked more.

*It has to be washing soda to work.
